FINALIST BLOG: ANDRÉS 02/16/10

rocksHellooo!!!
This is my blog entry N∫3. Sorry for the lack of updates (it’s just that when i’m not very busy I’m very lazy).
I’m in Park road, at Wellington. This has to be the greatest postproduction place ever! Is like a dream came true.
My two shooting days were just perfect. Well, the second one was almost perfect because clouds didnt want to stay in place and the light continuity wasn’t the best. But beyond that, just perfect. Renaud (DP), Joe (1st assistant director), Ken (Art director and super-duper handy man) and everyone else did an excelent job. A very pro and yet familiar crew!
Here, at Wellington, my film is being edited by Annie Collins (one of the editors in LOTR The two towers and Return of the king). A wonderful person! We are having a fun time editing it while I struggle with the Visual effects with the help of some of the nice people in Parkroad.
Yesterday I went to Weta Digital to have a small talk with Matt Aitken (one of the main persons at Weta). The reason of the visit was to ask him for some advices regarding the chalenging posptroduction of my film but we ended talking about movies and funny things about our countries. It was a very fun afternoon! Luckily, when I explained him how we were facing the posptroduction he told me that we were doing it the best way possible. Phew!! That’s some very good news.
As some of the other finalists, I’m having nightmares at night too. The weirdest one went like this: I was in an amusement park with a girl. The girl was the actress that played Harley Quinn in Batman The Dark Knight (I know she wasn’t in the movie but, you know, it was a dream). In real life she was confined in an insane assylum and that’s where Cristopher Nolan saw her an claimed: “That girl has to play Harley in my movie!!” (yeah…). The thing is that she was using a mask because her face was somehow very deformed. So, in a moment I told her: “can I see your face under the mask?”, “No!”, She said, “I’m horrible!”. “Come on! It can’t be that bad…” I said, and she took off her mask. It was the most gruesome thing I had seen in a dream (that I can remember). I’d describe it here but I don’t think it’s the right place to do it. Sorry!
Well, that’s all for today. Stay tuned!
