FINALIST BLOG: KRISTI 02/07/10

My last three days have been jam packed with final prep and then two full days of filming.  We were very lucky to have had gorgeous weather that let us get some amazing shots, although the price was a pretty bad sunburn.  I have been warned by practically every person I have met since arriving in New Zealand that the ozone layer is thin down here and the sun can burn quickly.  Sunscreen was no match for it.
Filming itself went very well, although we of course were very short on time.  With some distance between my five locations, we unfortunately had to waste a significant amount of time driving around.  That left us with less time than I would have liked to actually film, but the locations were worth it.   Dan Musgrove, who played Jimmy, was a dream to work with and the crew was superb.
With filming wrapped, I flew to Wellington today and the weather here was beautiful too.  I got a tour of the spectacular Park Road Post and met me editor, Paul.  Later I spent a couple hours doing ADR with the voice actors flown down from Auckland.  They were amazing and were able to make Jimmy’s memory come to life.
Tomorrow I dive into editing my film.  I can’t wait to finally put all the elements of my film together.02/07/10

Sounds like the experience of a life time! We here in rainy Seattle cannot wait for you to show this film as your “talent” next Thanksgiving.
