FINALIST BLOG: AYA 02/01/2010

This morning it was off to meet Stu and Suzanne at a little café to go over casting. I was told that Stu would know what I looked like, however turned out that we sat next to each other for a good 15 minutes before we connected!
We have cast the part of James with a great actor named Luke Hawker. The funny thing is Luke and I have been friends since we were 13! As for Granny, we have someone that we would like but Nanna is proving to be difficult (much like her character!).
It would seem I can either get a seasoned actress, or someone with no acting experience but the looks – agh! I think if push comes to shove, it would be wiser to go with experience but we shall see…
After the meeting I was told that the Tamaki Hikoi trip was cancelled due to rain (boo!). Instead I spend those precious hours at the hotel researching the actors that had been mentioned in the meeting.
Finally, it was over to Queenstown where my production manager Garry met me! We hit it off from the start so I feel really comfortable having him on my team! I was then introduced to everyone in the office before grabbing a drink with the mysterious YBB film critic Matt!
